First day of Japan!

I arrived today in Japan at 3:50pm. Two friends named Ryota and Hitomi picked up me and my friend Sara from the airport. After that we rode on train for about 2 hours and then Hitomi took me to my dorm and Sara to her's. When I came to my dorm, I was introduced to my coordinator at my university. She doesn't know any english, and she only spoke fast Japanese with me. I could understand almost everything she said, but talking back to her was difficult. Luckily Hitomi was there to help me explain to her. After that I went to a コンビニ (convenience store) with Ryota, Hitomi, and Harumi (who also went to WMU the year before) and bought our dinners there. After that I went to Sara's dorm where I met many more people and saw Martin (who goes to WMU). Soon after I had to go back to my dorm because the last train stopped at midnight. I was able to ride the train by myself and find my way back to the dorm!

So that was my first! I am looking forward to many more great days! But Japan is so hot....haha!

Very nice digs, man. I like your room a lot. Yeah, I also have the talking back to people problem, but it's getting better the more I try! I think since Japanese isn't the first language in our heads it's hard to center our thoughts..
